Kitchens and bathrooms need careful planning because several functions share a relatively small area. Before selecting finishes, map the fixed services, openings, appliances, storage and the paths people use every day. A measured 2D plan makes it easier to compare alternatives; a 3D model helps you understand sightlines, cabinet heights and overall proportions.

Kitchen planning

Identify the refrigerator, sink, cooking area and preparation surfaces. Arrange them to support a practical sequence without creating awkward crossings. Check door and drawer openings, appliance requirements, ventilation and access to services. Storage should be designed around the items you actually use, not only the appearance of the cabinet fronts.

Bathroom planning

Map the toilet, vanity, shower or bath, door swing and storage before selecting tile or fixtures. Pay attention to ventilation, waterproofing, slip resistance and maintenance. Confirm clearances and installation requirements using product documentation and local regulations.

Materials and lighting

Choose finishes suited to moisture, heat, cleaning and wear. Combine general lighting with task lighting at work surfaces and mirrors. Check the colour of materials in both daylight and artificial light where possible.

Review in 3D

Use a 3D view to check cabinet proportions, fixture placement and how the room feels from the doorway. It can help with design communication, but a licensed or qualified professional should confirm plumbing, electrical, structural and code-related decisions.
